Practice Details:
Are you ready to become an integral part of our dynamic healthcare team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital as a dedicated Rheumatologist? Here, your expertise can have a profound impact on the lives of patients battling rheumatic diseases. We're actively seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Rheumatologist to deliver expert care to individuals with various rheumatologic conditions. As a valued team member, you'll assume a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a diverse range of rheumatic ailments, ensuring that patients receive the utmost quality of care.
In the past, two local internists provided this service. With the area's expansion, there's now a growing need for a specialist in Rheumatology. As we embrace this new phase, the responsibilities of the practice are open to negotiation, and your unique interests and priorities will strongly influence the practice's direction. The existing team of Internists, who have previously offered general rheumatology services to the community, will provide solid support, ensuring a smooth transition and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
In this role, you will diagnose and treat patients dealing with a spectrum of rheumatic diseases, ranging from rheumatoid arthritis and lupus to osteoarthritis and gout. By conducting comprehensive patient assessments, which include meticulous reviews of medical histories and thorough physical examinations, you'll formulate precise diagnoses. Leveraging your expertise, you'll design and implement comprehensive treatment strategies encompassing medication management, lifestyle adjustments, and other therapeutic interventions. In addition, you'll proficiently interpret relevant diagnostic tests, such as imaging and laboratory analyses, to guide informed decision-making in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Your collaborative nature will shine as you work closely with diverse multidisciplinary teams, including fellow specialists, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. By fostering a team-based approach, you'll provide holistic patient care and management, ensuring that each aspect of a patient's well-being is addressed. Your excellent communication skills will be put to use as you interact empathetically with patients, adeptly explaining diagnoses, elucidating treatment options, and outlining disease management strategies in a compassionate and comprehensible manner.
As KBRH proudly serves as a community training site for the UBC medical school, you'll have a direct hand in shaping the growth of future rheumatologists as you mentor medical students and residents. The best part? You can effortlessly weave these enriching experiences into your schedule, ensuring a rewarding blend of professional growth and contribution to medical education.
If you are a motivated and dedicated Rheumatologist, elevate your career at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, where your expertise can change lives. Apply today to live, work and play where others only vacation! Email your CV to PhysicianRecruitment@interiorhealth.ca. It's better here!
