Practice Details:

You will be joining an on-site collegial group of 4 other pathologists (3 anatomical pathologists and 1 general pathologist). Our pathology staff members are friendly and easy to work with. Vernon Jubilee Hospital has an active histology service where a wide variety of specimens types are received with certified pathologist assistant help on hand. Additionally, on-site general pathologists oversee the hematology, chemistry, and transfusion medicine services. Your duties would include: participation in ~16,000 surgical pathology cases /year,~ 130 bone marrow biopsies/year, ~600 cytopathology cases/year, occasional hospital autopsies, quality assurance activities, in terms of daily QA pathology rounds, and teaching of medical and laboratory students. Most services are covered under the provincial contract, but additional fee for service billings are possible for bone marrows and Coroner autopsies. We can provide strong mentorship for new grads and our team is flexible for scheduling arrangements.

Qualifications:
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Full License with CPSBC; CMPA Coverage
Call Schedule:

Hours of work: 45 hrs/week
On call requirements: approx. 1 week in 6

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

Provincially negotiated grid level. Estimated Gross Income: Upper end of provincially negotiated grid; ~$340,000-$380,000

Applicable for 1.0 FTE positions, $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location (with eligible receipts).
