Practice Details:

As our fourth team member, you will play a critical role in delivering services that encompass both community consulting practice and hospital-based acute care. In our 75-bed regional referral centre, with its dedicated pediatric ward and level 1B nursery, you will have the resources to provide optimal care for your young patients.

Joining our maternal-child department, you'll work with obstetricians, family-practice based obstetrics providers, and midwives, forming a purposeful and supportive team. Together, we deliver extensive care and unwavering support to expectant mothers and their families. Your contribution is key in ensuring a seamless approach to maternal and child health, positively impacting the lives of our patients.

Our welcoming outpatient clinic awaits you, located conveniently near KBRH. There, you will nurture the health of local children, guiding their development with compassion. Your expertise will allow you to make a meaningful difference in young lives across our community. We also provide opportunities to extend your reach through funded outreach clinics in neighboring towns.

You'll bring your wealth of knowledge and skills to the emergency room, case room, nursery, and inpatient pediatrics, enhancing the health and well-being of children through unparalleled pediatric care. Our hospital-based pediatric telehealth room allows you to conduct remote subspecialty consultations, enhancing your ability to deliver specialized care and enrich your practice.

The Rural Specialist Locum Program (RSLP) provides coverage for travel and accommodations when following program guidelines. Depending on journey length, physicians may earn up to $1,560 for travel time costs. The program also reimburses reasonable transportation and lodging expenses, as outlined in current policy terms. Hours of work: We want you to love life in and outside work, and we're committed to helping you achieve that perfect balance.
On call requirements: With a 1:4 on-call rotation, you'll have plenty of time to relax and reset in between.

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

Experience the peace of mind that comes with a guaranteed income of $347,906 through an APP clinical service contract, along with MOCAP level 1, prorated for part-time positions.


RSA Incentives

Recruitment incentive: $15,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time
Relocation: $9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada
Fee premium: 11.48%
Annual retention fee: $17,421
RCME funding: $600 for up to 2 years in Trail, $3,600 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $6,600 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds.


Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
