Exciting family physician opportunity in Kamloops at the Urgent Primary Care Centre (UPCC)!
As a General Practice Physician, you will work with members of the care team at the Kamloops Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC). This state of the art clinic will provide longitudinal, urgent, and episodic care to the community of Kamloops. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians to work as part of an interprofessional team.
The UPCC team consists of general practitioners (GPs), nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurse team lead, primary care registered nurses (RNs), social workers (SWs), medical office assistants (MOAs), and a dedicated operational manager. The team will focus on members of the general population with non-life threatening illnesses or injuries who need access to same-day care, including those who are unattached.

Kamloops Urgent Primary Care and Learning Centre :
The Kamloops Urgent Primary Care and Learning Centre (UPCLC) sees patients who might normally go to a family doctor or nurse practitioner for their ailment, if an appointment had been available. Patients will typically be seen by a physician, but they may also be seen by a physiotherapist, a nurse, a social worker or other clinician, depending on the nature of their injury or illness.
There is team-based care available by referral at the Urgent Primary Care Centre for non-life threatening illnesses or injuries that need same-day care. This is a not a walk-in clinic.
The team which includes Nurse Practitioners, provides care for:
• Less serious injuries
• Lacerations/wounds/skin conditions
• Infections
• Minor pediatric illness/injury
• Women’s health
• Culturally safe care
