Practice Details:

As an OBGYN joining our cohesive team in beautiful Vernon, you'll quickly appreciate the professional camaraderie and the quality of life this location offers. Here, your work extends beyond a job—it becomes a passion.

You'll have the opportunity to support the community with on-call consultative Obstetrics, taking on unique cases like twin pregnancies or complex obstetrics. In addition, you'll provide on-call Gynecology services. Your schedule may include home call, offering the chance for late-night work or the possibility of spending most of the night snug in your bed. With our hospital averaging 800 to 900 deliveries each year, you'll work closely with our trusted GP and midwifery partners, fostering excellent professional relationships.

You can look forward to generous OR time, with frequent opportunities to collaborate on challenging cases. Your clinic commitment typically varies from 1 to 4 days a week, and 2-3 OR days each month. You'll be covering a broad spectrum of Gynecology, from infertility care and urogynecology to vaginal surgery and complex laparoscopic cases.

Qualifications:
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
  • Emergency experience
  • Obstetric experience
  • Surgical experience
  • Licensure, or eligible for licensure, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC); and mandatory coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
Call Schedule:

Hours of work: We are committed to accommodating your preferences and ensuring a suitable work-life balance.


On call requirements: Call typically spans 24 hours, and weekends 48 hours of coverage. We're adaptable when it comes to call requirements for a new team member; you can anticipate 3 to 5 twenty-four-hour call shifts each month.

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

Anticipate an estimated gross annual of $400,000, determined by a fee-for-service payment structure and MOCAP level 1.


Additional Incentives

For a full-time position, we offer $9,000 in assistance if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada. Please note incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
