Practice Details:

We are a group of 5 generalist OBGYNs splitting our time between private clinics, hospital based practice, call responsibilities and surgical time in the OR, looking to add 1-2 new members to our team.

We are very supportive & collegial group of OBGYNs who have a big focus on quality of life while also really enjoying the word that we do. We provide consultative Obstetrics on call, with some rare primary obstetrical care for twins or complex obstetrical patients. We also provide on call gynecology services. We do home call - where you can be up for many hours of the night or spend most of the night at home in bed. Our hospital site does between 800-900 deliveries per year and the majority of our patients are managed by our GP and midwifery groups, whom we have excellent working relationships with.

We get ample OR time and often assist one another for complicated cases. We spend an average anywhere from 1-4 days in clinic during a given week depending on our working schedule that week and have access to 2-3 OR days a month.

We practice a broad range of Gynecology form infertility care, urogynecology, vaginal surgery and complex laparoscopic cases. We are really looking for someone who has an interest in vaginal surgery including any prolapse repair or incontinence procedures. A few of us do a lot of Urogynecology but we would love to have an addition who also has that as an interest.

Call typically on a 24hr basis, with weekend coverage being 48 hrs. Call requirements for the new hire can be flexible, but typically one could expect anywhere from 5-6 call shifts per month (24 hr each), depending on our complement.

Vernon is a beautiful place throughout all four seasons with warm sandy beaches in the summer, three lakes, and ample parks and hiking activities. We have many amazing mountain biking trails and access to the downhill trails at Silver Star in the spring/summer. The fall and spring in Vernon host mild temperatures and beautiful surroundings.

We also are fortunate to have access to some amazing cross country ski trails in the winter and our downhill mountain, Silver Star, gets a lot of snow in the winter, being only a 30 minute drive from downtown.

We are a 45 minute drive from the airport in Kelowna, making access to and from the Interior easy.

We would prefer to have any interested applicant spend some time locuming out here with us to ensure it's a mutual right fit. Start date for this position can be flexible for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a smaller hospital setting, performing consultative obstetrics and a broad range of gynaecology services.
