Practice Details:

In the heart of Vernon, a city known for its supportive community and engaging lifestyle, our medical team is looking for a dedicated OB/GYN. This role is more than a position—it’s a calling.

You’ll be at the forefront of women’s health, deeply involved in on-call obstetrics and managing complex cases like twin pregnancies and other intricate obstetric situations.

Your days will be impactful, providing on-call gynecological services alongside a team that values deep professional relationships. With a hospital that sees 800 to 900 deliveries annually, collaboration with GP and midwifery partners is key, making every day a learning opportunity and a chance to make a real difference.

Enjoy a flexible schedule that balances OR time and clinic hours, which can range from 1 to 4 days a week, plus 2-3 OR days monthly. Your expertise will be crucial in a wide array of gynecological procedures, from infertility treatments to advanced laparoscopic surgeries.

For travel, we've got you covered (within IH policy guidelines, of course!) This way, you can relax and focus on what you do best - providing excellent care. Depending on the length of your journey, earn between $250-$1,500 for your time on the road or in the air. And your transport and accommodation costs? You’ll be reimbursed for reasonable expenses for those too, thanks to our IH locum policy.

A minimum income guarantee is in place to help provide coverage for unfilled shifts until September 30, 2024. You'll earn $3,500 per 24-hour period (0700-0700), and $28.25/hour under the VJH MOCAP OBGYN contract.

Call Schedule:

Hours of work: We want you to love life in and outside work, and we're committed to helping you achieve that perfect balance.
On call requirements: Call typically spans 24 hours, and weekends 48 hours of coverage. We're adaptable when it comes to call requirements for a new team member; you can anticipate 3 to 5 twenty-four-hour call shifts each month.

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

Anticipate an estimated gross annual of $400,000, determined by a fee-for-service payment structure and MOCAP level 1.


Additional Incentives

For a full-time position, we offer up to $9,000 in assistance if moving within BC, up to $12,000 within Canada, and up to $15,000 from outside Canada. Please note incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
