CMH is currently expanding the IM team and further developing the service with a goal of growing a more critical service for the community. Enjoy working with a supportive medical community, a thriving surgical team and a busy ER (~ 22,000 visits/yr). The ideal candidate will be eager to collaborate in building our general internal medicine program and would be confident with inpatients, emergency room consults, and High Acuity Unit (HAU) management/ procedures such as stress testing. Our HAU offers 3-4 beds with short-term ventilation service available. Williams Lake is a hub for the area and as such, experiences a broad variety of cases. Subspecialty interests such as respirology and rheumatology would be welcomed. Local on-call responsibilities are quite flexible and will be determined with incoming physician. Physician services in Williams Lake include Pediatrics, Radiology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Emergency Physicians, Anaesthesia, and a knowledgeable and experienced group of full-service Family Doctors. We have visiting specialists including ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology and Orthopedics – we are rural but not isolated.

•Recruitment bonus: $15,000
•Relocation:$15,000 max (with eligible receipts)

•Annual retention fee: $18,696.48
•CME funding: to a max of $6,600 after 4 years

Cariboo Memorial Hospital:
Cariboo Memorial Hospital is a 28 bed hospital offering emergency, an intensive care unit, operating rooms, medical-surgical and obstetrical units, and ambulatory care services. Other services at the hospital include stress testing, lab and diagnostic imaging (including echo and CT scanning), out-patient hemodialysis and a five-bed psychiatric crisis stabilization unit. There is 24-hour general surgery and obstetrical specialist coverage, full-time radiology, and a pediatric specialist. There are also visiting ophthalmology, rheumatology and psychiatry specialists.
