Practice Details:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Geriatric Psychiatrist to join the Department of Psychiatry at Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and the Kamloops Mental Health & Substance Use Center (KMHSU). This position provides a variety of opportunities for a fulfilling practice. At RIH, roles include management of geriatric patients on the new 30-bed inpatient psychiatry unit as well as on the high volume Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry service. KMHSU has a Seniors Mental Health Program encompassing short-term assessment and treatment for moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses including Major Neurocognitive Disorders and case management for those with severe and persistent mental illness. Additional opportunities include virtual outreach services to rural communities and in-reach to Long Term Care Homes both local and rural.

Qualifications:
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory.

$350,000 - $400,000, plus MOCAP level 2

RIH is the regional base for the High Acuity Response Team (HART) that transports critically ill patients throughout the region. Surgical services include General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology.
