Rutland Urgent and Primary Care Centre:
The Rutland Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) uses a team based care approach including family physicians (FPs), nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurse team lead, primary care registered nurses (RNs), social workers (SWs), physiotherapists (PT) medical office assistants (MOAs), and a dedicated operational manager to provide urgent and primary care to both attached and unattached patients in the Central Okanagan Primary Care Network (PCN). The UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the resources of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5).
The UPCC focuses on members of the general population with non-life threatening illnesses or injuries who need access to same-day care, including those who are unattached, both those that are on the Patient Attachment List (PAL) actively awaiting attachment in the Central Okanagan and those not yet on the PAL.
