Interior Health and Kelowna General Hospital are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a talented and dedicated Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck surgeon to join our team. We are seeking a passionate individual with Fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgery to primarily focus on Head and Neck oncologic surgery. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to provide general Otolaryngology coverage, further enhancing their skills and expertise.
In our vibrant and dynamic environment, the successful candidate will be part of a tertiary referral center serving the southern interior of British Columbia. Our hospital is associated with one of BC Cancer's regional centers, offering comprehensive radiation and medical oncology treatment. We also provide weekly Provincial tumour rounds through video links, ensuring collaboration and access to the latest advancements in the field. Moreover, our collaboration with Plastic Surgery allows for reconstruction with microvascular surgery, with an impressive volume of approximately 25 flaps performed per year.
Kelowna General Hospital boasts state-of-the-art operating rooms equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a CO2 laser, Medtronics Fusion Image Guided System, Nerve Integrity Monitor, operating microscopes, paediatric bronchoscopes, and a local PET/CT scanner. This exceptional facility provides an optimal setting to deliver high-quality care to our patients.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise by participating in the teaching of medical students and residents who occasionally join us for electives. This role further enriches the candidate's professional growth and fosters a culture of continuous learning and development.
With a call coverage of 1 in 5, the incoming surgeon will have a balanced work-life schedule that allows for ample personal time. Additionally, the current operative time available is 1 to 2 days per week, with a half-day dedicated to ambulatory care.

Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is one of two tertiary hospitals within Interior Health and is the region’s main referral centre offering a full range of services with approximately 400 beds and over 84,000 ED visits yearly. Kelowna General Hospital is home to the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC) which opened in 2015 and is BC’s only cardiac critical care centre outside of Victoria and the Lower Mainland. IHSC is Kelowna General Hospital’s principal surgical site and features 12 specialized Operating Rooms created for Thoracic, Urology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Plastics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ears Nose and Throat, Orthopedics, General and Trauma surgeries with 2 ORs dedicated to Cardiac Surgery. Our state of the art Centennial Building boasts a total of 360,000 square feet, an expanded emergency and ambulatory care department, new medical inpatient units, modern operating rooms and a rooftop helipad. Within the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre, KGH has a modern maternity ward and adjacent Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. KGH has a dedicated pediatric ward, as well as, adolescent and adult psychiatry units. Enhanced laboratory and clinical departments are found in the new Dr. Walter Anderson Building. KGH is also a teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program affiliated with UBC, and has an academic campus that serves as a satellite for the University of British Columbia Medical School.
