Wetlands provide the perfect habitat for birds and bird watchers alike, and the abundant farms and orchards support a farm to table lifestyle creating a welcoming community of grounded, hardworking people. Creston takes pride in its many local artisans skilled in areas such as blacksmithing, pottery, quilting, and painting, hosting annual events to display their creations.

Practice Details:

Fast pace, traffic jams, high cost of living? We have an Rx for that!

Located in the Southeastern corner of BC in the unceded traditional territory of the Yaqan Nukiy within the Ktunaxa Nations, the stunning Creston Valley offers a unique climate and incomparable scenery along with agricultural diversity, an award winning farmer's market, an internationally recognized apiary, a major brewery, VQA wineries, and exceptional artists and artisans. Creston is a great place to raise a family, start a hobby farm or step out of the rat race to enjoy a better work life balance! Located only 11 kilometers from the Idaho border, the region offers unlimited recreational resources: clear waters of Kootenay Lake at your doorstep, accessible skiing in several locations nearby, state-of-the-art 4-season recreation centre, several active ball diamonds, and a recently opened destination skate board park! The area also boasts a challenging and scenic golf course, a multitude of hiking and biking opportunities as well as a 17,000 acre RAMSAR Wildlife Management area home to rare and endangered species.

The region has multiple family practice clinics which offer a variety of in clinic services as well as opportunities to create a schedule that suits your needs and those of your family. The collegiality between the clinics is inspiring as clinics support the Creston Valley Hospital (CVH) a 20-bed Acute Care Hospital with an active 24-hour Emergency Department and 2 long term care homes in the Town. All Creston GP's provide routine clinical care within the practices of their medical clinic, and provide approximately 1:11 on call emergency services. Acute patient services at CVH include GP Surgery/Anesthesia/Low Risk Obstetrics, inpatient services, and Dialysis. Local Diagnostics are provided through laboratory services, imaging, ultrasound. Support departments at the hospital include pharmacy, dietary, physiotherapy and occupational therapy as well as other ancillary services. The Hospital also hosts visiting specialists to limit patient travel.

In association with the UBC Medical School, two of our clinics support students and residents, completing their rural component of their training and the students speak highly of their experiences with us.
