Williams Lake is in BC’s Central Interior Region, otherwise known as the Cariboo Chilcotin Region, and is famous for the annual Williams Lake Stampede. There is a population of approximately 35,000 in Williams Lake and surrounding areas with a total population of 62,000 for the Cariboo Regional District. A vast array of lakes, rivers and hiking and biking trails, makes Williams Lake and the surrounding area a great place for outdoor enthusiasts to camp, fish, hunt and play during the summer months while winter months bring the enjoyment of snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding, and ice fishing for the winter months. We have an exciting opportunity for a rural Family Practice Physician in Williams Lake, B.C.
We invite you to practice rural family medicine in our new Primary Care Hub (“PCH”) opening soon. The PCH will also house a multi-disciplinary team of Allied Health Resources including Mental Health Substance Use Clinician, Dietician, Respiratory Therapist, Clinical Pharmacist, Occupational Therapist and Registered Nurse. In addition to your clinical work, there are numerous opportunities to build the practice of your dreams which could include maternity, long term care, oncology, palliative care, ER, and other areas of interest. The team support from the local surgeons, obstetricians, paediatrician, internist, and psychiatrist is outstanding.
You can end your work day by grabbing Sushi or Indian take-out and head out with your kayak or paddle board and enjoy one of the nearby lakes. The region is exquisitely beautiful and widely diverse. You can visit galleries, unique shops and eateries, enjoy the Stampede and explore the endless outdoor adventures and activities that are readily available year-round. Countless lakes offer boating and swimming in addition to the many fishing opportunities for anglers, trollers and fly- fishers alike. Well maintained biking trails are one of the Caribou’s hidden treasures. Walking, hiking, and birdwatching along these trails are popular summer activities. Aurora watching/photography is unparalleled in winter and the hundreds of miles of trails also provide amazing winter opportunities for snowshoeing, x-country skiing and snowmobiling.

Recruitment bonus: $15,000
Relocation: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location
Fee Premium: 12.32%
Annual Retention: enter $19,092.48
Rural CME: max of $4,840.00 /year after 4 years in practice
