Practice Details:
Excellent opportunity for a Palliative Care Physician interested in working in a partnership between the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) and the Cancer Centre in Kelowna. This position provides a flexible clinical and academic role where you will work both as an acute inpatient consultant at KGH and an outpatient consultant at the Cancer Centre, Cancer Pain and Symptom Management Clinic. This is a newer program with plenty of opportunity for program development. The program has a multidisciplinary team approach to clinics and an enjoyable teamwork environment.
Applicants must meet requirements of provincial College of Physician and Surgeons, BC Cancer, and Kelowna General Hospital.

Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is one of two tertiary hospitals within Interior Health, and is the region’s main referral centre, offering a full range of services with approximately 400 beds and over 84,000 ED visits yearly. KGH has become one of BC’s leading healthcare centres.
Home to the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre, the IHSC is BC’s only cardiac critical care centre outside of Victoria and the Lower Mainland, and KGH’s principal surgical site. It features 12 specialized ORs created for Thoracic, Urology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Plastics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ears, Nose, and Throat, Orthopedics, General, and Trauma surgeries. Of these, 2 ORs are dedicated to Cardiac Surgery. Within the IHSC, KGH also has a modern maternity ward and an adjacent Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Our state-of-the-art Centennial Building boasts a total of 360,000 square feet, an expanded emergency and ambulatory care department, new medical inpatient units, modern operating rooms, and a rooftop helipad. Additional facilities include a dedicated pediatric ward, as well as adolescent and adult psychiatry units. The Dr. Walter Anderson Building houses enhanced laboratory and clinical departments, supporting advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities.
KGH is also a teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program affiliated with UBC and has an academic campus that serves as a satellite for the University of British Columbia Medical School.
