As a valued member of our Psychiatry team, your role will encompass a range of responsibilities. You'll contribute to the provision of services at KBRH's 12-bed general adult inpatient unit, offer consultations to medical and surgical units, and the emergency department, and maintain a community-based practice. Your duties will span patient assessment and treatment, fostering collaboration with fellow clinicians and managers, and playing a pivotal role in the development and upkeep of relevant programs, policies, and procedures. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality psychiatric care to residents across the Kootenay Boundary region, with opportunities for outreach to neighbouring communities and the provision of telehealth services. This job posting is for a position covered by the Provincial Health Officer’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination order, and selected applicant(s) must comply with the requirements of the order.

Qualifications:
  • Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Licensure, or eligible for licensure, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)

    Mandatory coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

Call Schedule:

Hours of work: We are committed to accommodating your preferences and ensuring a suitable work-life balance.


On call requirements: The on-call schedule offers a favourable rotation of 1:5.

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

Anticipate an estimated gross annual income between $300,000-500,000, plus MOCAP level 2.


RSA Incentives

Recruitment incentive: $15,000
Relocation: $9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada.
Fee premium: 11.48%
Annual retention fee: $17,421
RCME funding: $600 for up to 2 years in Trail, $3,600 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $6,600 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds.

The above numbers are based on a full-time position and may be prorated for physicians working less than full time. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
