You will be instrumental in enhancing the care provided at our 12-bed general adult inpatient unit, delivering essential consultations across medical and surgical units, as well as the emergency department, and nurturing a community-based practice. Beyond direct patient care, your engagement in comprehensive assessments and tailored treatment plans will be foundational to our mission.

The Rural Specialist Locum Program (RSLP) provides coverage for travel and accommodations when following program guidelines. Depending on journey length, physicians may earn up to $1,560 for travel time costs. The program also reimburses reasonable transportation and lodging expenses, as outlined in current policy terms. Call Schedule:

Hours of work: We want you to love life in and outside work, and we're committed to helping you achieve that perfect balance.
On call requirements: With a 1:5 on-call rotation, you'll have plenty of time to relax and reset in between.

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

As a general adult psychiatrist in Trail, you'll earn between $350,000-$550,000, thanks to the fee-for-service model, sessional contracts, and MOCAP level 2.


RSA Incentives

Recruitment incentive: $15,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time
Relocation: $9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada
Fee premium: 11.48%
Annual retention fee: $17,421
RCME funding: $600 for up to 2 years in Trail, $3,600 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $6,600 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds.

The above numbers are based on a full-time position and may be prorated for physicians working less than full time. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
