Williams Lake is in BC’s Central Interior Region, otherwise known as the Cariboo Chilcotin Region, and is famous for the annual Williams Lake Stampede. There is a population of approximately 35,000 in Williams Lake and surrounding areas with a total population of 62,000 for the Cariboo Regional District. We have the following dates open for coverage: July 24-31, Oct 21-27, Dec 27-Jan 7, 2025.

We serve a catchment area of ~65,000. The coverage is needed for 1:3 home call for Obstetrics and Gynecology. Obstetrics call is consultant based.

Physician services in Williams Lake include Pediatrics and General Surgery and a knowledgeable and experienced group of Family Doctors.

Qualifications:

• Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)

Cariboo Memorial Hospital:

Cariboo Memorial is under renovation with planned completion of 2026! Currently, CMH is a Level 2 Community Hospital in Williams Lake with 28 inpatient beds. CMH hospital offers ER, OR, Med-Surg, and Obstetrical units. Lab and diagnostic imaging and outpatient Hemodialysis Unit are operated on-site. The CMH redevelopment project includes an addition to the existing hospital as well as renovations to the existing facility. The addition will add 25 in-patient beds for a total of 53, a new emergency department and mental-health unit.
