As the regional Trauma and ICU Referral Centre, we handle complex cases that will test and expand your skills and expertise. Doctorate in Medicine

You'll hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- You'll have, or be eligible for, your Certification in the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).
- You’ll have, or be eligible for, your CCFP (EM). You will also be considered if you have, or are eligible for, your CCFP and have emergency experience.
- If you’re a US-trained physician with ABMS certification in emergency medicine, you may be eligible to practice under the USA certified class.
- To practice medicine here, you’ll have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

Our flexible scheduling system provides accommodation for your preferences whenever possible, with 8-14 shifts per month. We offer 4 shifts daily ranging between 6.5-9 hours, to ensure comprehensive coverage across day, evening, and night shifts.

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income
As an emergency medicine physician in Trail, you can expect total compensation of around $250,000 to $400,000, determined by a fee-for-service payment structure, MOCAP level 1, and a bonus of $550 per night shift.
RSA Incentives
Recruitment incentive: $15,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time
Relocation: $9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada
Fee premium: 11.48%
Annual retention fee: $17,790
RCME funding: $440 for up to 2 years in Trail, $2,640 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $4,840 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds.
Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.
