Practice Details:

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing management where required for youth (age 14 and over) and adults impacted by developmental disabilities and concurrent mental illness with significant complexity.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support clients based on outcomes and recommendations of assessment.

Core Competencies:
• Strong psychopharmacologic skills with capacity to understand applicable research and novel therapeutics.
• Understand the impact of pre-morbid neurodevelopmental disorders on mental illness.
• Understand and appreciate different therapeutic techniques and adaptations necessary for patients with neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Thorough experience and ability to participate in team-based care interventions working in partnership with allied health professionals.

Qualifications:
  • Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
Call Schedule:

Hours of work: Part time 8:30-16:30 2-3 days per week
On call requirements: N/A

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

$250,000 - $350,000, full-time, plus MOCAP level 2


RSA Incentives

Relocation assistance $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location (with eligible receipts)

Community Health Services Centre — Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS) clinic. :

DDMHS is a regional, tertiary, community mental health program supporting youth and adults with intellectual disability and moderate to severe psychiatric concerns. As a regional program, DDMH supports referrals from across Interior Health and offers local support throughout the IH region. A tertiary psychiatrist would have the opportunity to provide support locally in Kelowna, and/or through outreach visits to several DDMH locations throughout Interior Health, all with the support of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
