Practice Details:

The clinic currently provides comprehensive, office based, longitudinal family practice care to the people of Kelowna and surrounds. Physicians also provides care to opioid dependent individuals. We do not do obstetrics and we have associate hospital privileges which means our patients are taken care of by our hospitalist program when admitted to hospital. This is a well-established, well known and respected family practice with a robust patient base. We are available for after-hours call via telephone between 1-2 weeks per year as we are part of a large call group.

We currently envisage the new associate joining the existing two practices so that we will have three MD’s covering two full time and busy practices. This means each MD would work a total of 8 months per year with 4 months off to enjoy BC or work in some other area if they choose to.

This offer would be ideal for a relatively new MD who is comfortable and qualified to deal with the full spectrum of medical, surgical, paediatric, gynaecological and psychiatric cases typical of a full service family practice. This MD would value working hard while at work but with significant opportunity for recreational pursuits when not working. Clinic physicians are active and involved in a variety of activities including: mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, cross country skiing and back country skiing.

The usual work week is 3 half days and one full day which means a long week-end every weekend. The MD’s at the KMC strive to work hard and play hard while providing top notch care to the people of the Central Okanagan.
