The Golden medical community has 12 family physicians, a general surgeon, a midwife, and a visiting orthopedic surgeon. This collegial, multidisciplinary group is seeking two family physician locums to join their team. With the potential for permanent roles, this is an opportunity to become a valued member of the clinic. Locum responsibilities include providing clinic and emergency services, with the option to include obstetrics. The clinic utilizes the electronic medical records system, MOIS.

Locums enjoy a flexible schedule. Designed to accommodate your lifestyle, locums work three clinic days per week, with the option for additional days if desired. Locums also cover five to six 12-hour emergency shifts per month with the option for additional shifts if desired. Two of these shifts will be over one weekend per month. There are opportunities to collaborate with diverse health care professionals as well as participate in community health initiatives and outreach programs.

Remuneration in the clinic is based on the Longitudinal Family Physician Payment Model (LFP) and Rural Retention Program Fee Premium (18.9%) on billings. Remuneration in the emergency department includes fee-for-service and Rural Retention Program Fee Premium (18.9%), plus Medical On-Call Availability Program (MOCAP) and Rural Emergency Enhancement Fund (REEF).

Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Medicine
• Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
• Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
• Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
• Emergency experience

On call requirements: 12 hour shifts, 5-6 per month
