As a Hospitalist at Cariboo Memorial Hospital, you will work in the acute inpatient medicine setting and function in a MRP (most responsible physician) role for complex medical and co-management of surgical patients, as well as palliative care. Throughout the hospital, you will receive excellent support from the other CMH specialists and family physicians. Working 8 hours a day you will see an average of 12-16 inpatients per shift.

The CMH Hospitalist program supports the complex and diverse medical needs of our patients in an environment that fosters collaboration among specialists.

Qualifications:
  • Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
  • Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
Call Schedule:

Hours of work: Full Time or Part Time
On call requirements: Participation in after-hours call is mandatory.

Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income

For a full time hospitalist, anticipate an annual base income of $336,168.00 or $200.10/ hour, through an APP contract. Up to an additional 40% is also available with group contract incentives. MOCAP level 2 and After Hours Premiums also provided.


RSA Incentives

Rural Incentives include:
• Recruitment bonus: $15,000 (based on 1.0 FTE)
• Fee Premium: 12.32%
• Annual retention fee: $19,092.48

Relocation reimbursement up to a maximum of $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada.

*Rural Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.

Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for BC or Canada loan forgiveness programs for those living and working in rural community.


Cariboo Memorial Hospital:

Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) is under renovation with planned completion in 2029! Currently, CMH is a Level 2 Community Hospital in Williams Lake, with 28 inpatient beds. At CMH, we offer a broad spectrum of services, including emergency medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, psychiatry, anesthesia, and hospitalist services. Laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, and outpatient hemodialysis units are available on-site.
