Central Okanagan Hospice House:
Our Palliative Care Team is interdisciplinary including the Community, Kelowna General Hospital, and Central Okanagan Hospice House. Central Okanagan Hospice House is a 24 bed Hospice, staffed by professional and specialty trained care staff. Admission to Hospice House is for patients that meet the IH regional criteria for palliative care and on assessment by the Central Okanagan Palliative Care Team.
Practice Details:
The Central Okanagan Hospice House is seeking a palliative trained physician to join their team! This opportunity will allow you to practice in a community and/or as part of the Hospice Palliative Care Team. Duties include admitting and following patients in a 24 bed Hospice, conducting consultations and participating in educating staff, colleagues and learners. We take a coordinated approach to palliative care by working closely with the acute care teams, BC Cancer and Pain and Symptom Management. In addition, we are currently building a physician program in the community and planning for an outpatient clinic for unattached patients.

Qualifications:

Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)

Eligible for licensure with CPSBC

Doctorate in Medicine

Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory

• Palliative Medicine Subspecialty accreditation or equivalent training and experience or a certificate of added competency in Palliative Care for CCFP applicants.
• Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People’s Act (2019)
