Boundary District Hospital (BDH) in Grand Forks is welcoming passionate physicians to join our Emergency Department and longitudinal community practice experiencing the best of rural medicine in one of BC’s most scenic regions.
Providing ongoing community-based primary care in Grand Forks or surrounding communities is a required part of this role, and is vital to maintaining the stability and sustainability of the local medical community. Your work in clinic directly supports the emergency department, and the people who depend on both.
Boundary Hospital – Level I Community Hospital
• 12-bed facility with a 24/7 Emergency Department
• ED is on an APP
• Shifts are typically 24 hours, with the possibility of 12's
• Flexibility to pick up additional shifts, or to swap
• Broad mix of cases and hands-on procedures
• Specialist support from regional centres in Trail (~100 km) and Kelowna (231 km)
• Ideal for physicians who enjoy variety, autonomy, and close-knit teamwork

Estimated Gross Income
For full time services, the annual rate for EMEMGP is $366,046 per 1.0 FTE / EMEMSP is $403,668 per 1.0 FTE. Please note this is based on a 1.0 position in the emergency department. Compensation may vary.
RSA Incentives
Rural Incentives include:
Recruitment bonus: $20,000
Relocation: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location
Fee Premium: 18.62%
Annual Retention: $28,855.68
Rural CME: max of $5,720/year after 4 years in practice
Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.
Candidates with a Canada student loan may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs.
Boundary Hospital:
Boundary Hospital is a Level I Community Hospital with 12 beds and the 24/7 emergency room. The closest major medical centre is a transfer to Kelowna (231 km's) or to a regional hospital in Trail (~100 km)
