Interior Health is recruiting for an exciting medical leadership opportunity as the Medical Director for the West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre.

The Medical Director, West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre (Urgent/Episodic) is a physician and leader who works to achieve a collaborative working relationship between physicians and administration based on the “One IH” culture and its objectives. While reporting to the Executive Medical Director, Primary and Community Care the Medical Director will work within a collaborative framework to lead the development of professional standards, protocols and policies for medical care.

Please note to effectively fulfill the duties of the role, the Medical Director, West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre is expected to actively provide clinical services under the West Kelowna Urgent & Primary Care Centre Group Clinical Service Contract for a minimum average of 4 hours per week during the Term of this Contract, in addition to the 3.75 hours per week as the Medical Director.

Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
  • • Appointed as an active or provisionally active member of the Medical Staff of Interior Health. • Medical leadership experience with training in physician leadership or demonstrated willingness to undergo training in the near future.

West Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Centre:

The West Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) focuses on providing urgent and primary care to both attached and unattached patients in the Central Okanagan Primary Care Network (PCN). The UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5).

The UPCC offers work-life balance with competitive wages, within a group services contract providing flexible hours and days and the contract group self schedules. Work in a larger-than-life landscape and four season’s playground.
