We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic physician to join our General Internal Medicine team at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) in Cranbrook, BC.
As part of our close-knit group of six experienced general internists, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues who share a commitment to providing the highest quality, patient-centered care. Together, we strive to offer the most up-to-date, comprehensive services to meet the needs of our diverse patient population. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in a broad range of clinical responsibilities. Our team is skilled in performing various procedures, including intubation, central lines, chest tubes, pigtails, temporary pacemakers, lumbar punctures, arthrocentesis, paracentesis, and more. As an integral part of our internal medicine team, you will manage complex cases, working in a fast-paced environment, and providing critical care in the ICU, where we have a 6-bed closed unit run by the internists. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your clinical skill set while contributing to the comprehensive care of critically ill patients.
Outpatient care at EKRH includes a wide array of specialized clinics, such as our rapid access TIA clinic, chronic pulmonary disease clinic, diabetes clinic and CHF clinic with home monitoring. You will also conduct cardiac stress tests, manage MIBIs, stress echoes, Holter monitors, and event monitors, among other services. Our team is highly involved in advancing care in the region, and you will be part of this exciting, growth-focused environment.
Call duties are shared evenly among team members and involve both internal medicine consults and ICU coverage, ensuring a balanced workload. The opportunity to join a well-established outpatient clinic or even create your own private practice adds further flexibility to your professional journey.

East Kootenay Regional Hospital:
Join us at East Kootenay Regional Hospital, an 80-bed regional referral centre serving approximately 82,000 individuals in the beautiful East Kootenay region of BC.
Our 24/7 emergency and trauma services feature a 16-bed unit and a 6-bed ICU. Our high-acuity-response-team provides mobile critical care to stabilize and transfer rural patients.
The hospital includes a level 3 lab with new PCR and MALDI/TOF machines, plus new MRI, SPECT CT, and upcoming CT scanners in the radiology department. Construction is also underway for a new NICU, renovated ER triage, and oncology and renal departments.
