At Kelowna General Hospital, geriatric psychiatry is more than a specialty—it’s a commitment to enriching the lives of older adults and strengthening the support systems around them. Your expertise will bring clarity, comfort, and renewed stability to seniors facing complex mental health challenges.

This role spans multiple care settings, from the forty-two-bed McNair inpatient unit to consultations across the hospital, extending into the community through collaborative outreach with our dynamic Seniors Mental Health team. Your knowledge in advanced pharmacological treatments and psychosocial care will be invaluable in navigating the intricate needs of geriatric patients. Beyond clinical care, you’ll educate families and caregivers, equipping them with tools to better support their loved ones.

For those passionate about mentorship, opportunities abound—from guiding medical students and Family Practice residents to securing an academic role with UBC’s Faculty of Medicine. Your leadership will not only shape the next generation of physicians but also advance the field of geriatric mental health.

In this role, your impact will be both immediate and enduring. Through compassionate, skillful care, you’ll help seniors maintain dignity and well-being, leaving a lasting imprint on the future of geriatric psychiatry in Kelowna and beyond.
