Practice Details:

Rutland UPCC is seeking a family physician to provide primary care services within its Longitudinal Care Clinic. We are a Team based care approach including family physicians (FPs), nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurse team lead, primary care registered nurses (RNs), social workers (SWs), physiotherapists (PT) medical office assistants (MOAs), and a dedicated operational manager to provide urgent and primary care to both attached and unattached patients in the Central Okanagan Primary Care Network (PCN). The UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the resources of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5).

The patients who are attached to this clinic have primary care needs that include but are not limited to:

- Chronic disease management
- Substance use disorders
- HIV primary care
- Gender affirming care
- Refugee care
- Full spectrum family practice

This is a unique opportunity for an incoming physician to take over a small, stable pre-existing patient panel as well as grow the panel size as they see fit, with support from an incredible allied health team.

Qualifications:
  • Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory

$349,048 per 1.0 FTE (1680 hours)

The UPCC focuses on members of the general population with non-life threatening illnesses or injuries who need access to same-day care, including those who are unattached, both those that are on the Patient Attachment List (PAL) actively awaiting attachment in the Central Okanagan and those not yet on the PAL.
