Practice Details:
Fantastic opportunity for a General Internal Medicine specialist to join the team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail. If you are looking to practice in a supportive community setting where the lifestyle opportunities are endless, this is the position for you!
The Internal Medicine group currently consists of 6 local internists. We provide 24/7 IM call coverage (separate from ICU coverage), cardiac risk stratification with ESTs and MIBIs, urgent IM access with the Rapid Access IM Clinic located in the hospital, and separate outpatient office work. Our ideal candidate will be a true general internist, with comfort and skill in both inpatient and outpatient internal medicine. We can likely accommodate a variety of skills and competencies, please inquire.
We are associated with UBC and have ICC medical students and family practice residents here as their home site, as well as visiting UBC IM Fellows. Teaching obligations are an expectation of the position.
Critical care services are covered separately and not part of this position. On-call requirements are generally daytime hours and include inpatient consults at KBRH as well as phone support for our surrounding communities. We have a robust and skilled hospitalist service and we generally are a consulting service, with minimal MRP duties. On-call duties are approximately 1:4 to 1:5.

• Rural CME: Up to 2 years $600; In 3rd & 4th year $3,600; after 4 years $6,600
