Interior Health is seeking a dynamic leader for an exciting opportunity as the Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) Physician Advisor!

In partnership with the Specialist Services Committee (SSC), a Joint Collaborative Committee of Doctors of BC, the Interior Health Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) Initiative is dedicated to engaging physicians in health system improvement through quality improvement (QI) training and hands-on experience. The goal of PQI is to enhance physician capacity in QI, promoting a culture of learning, openness, and dedication to improving the health care system.

As the PQI Physician Advisor, you will serve as the lead physician for the PQI Program, providing strategic leadership aligned with SSC priorities, Interior Health’s Strategic Plan, and the IH Quality and Patient Safety Plan. Working in a dyad partnership with the PQI Manager and Operational Leadership Team, you will:

• Oversee PQI curriculum development, management, and evaluation in IH.
• Ensure PQI activities align with IH goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with physician leaders in the Spread Quality Improvement (SQI) and PQI Alum programs to integrate efforts and achieve key performance indicators.
• Champion Interior Health’s commitment to eliminating anti-Indigenous racism and discrimination, fostering a culturally safe and inclusive workplace.
• Partner in designing and delivering an equitable health care system.

Position Details:
• Term: 2-year appointment, with possibility of renewal
• FTE: 0.2
• Compensation: DOBC sessional rate of $176.18/hour

Qualifications:

• Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
• Doctorate in Medicine
• Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
