Practice Details:

In alignment with the established vision and values of the organization, the Physician is responsible and accountable for providing comprehensive medical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The Physician independently manages a broad range of health conditions, initiates medical treatment plans, and prescribes medications in accordance with provincial and federal regulations, licensing standards, and organizational policies and procedures.

Working both autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Physician collaborates with nurses, allied health professionals, and traditional knowledge holders to ensure coordinated, culturally appropriate care. The Physician refers patients to specialists or other providers as needed and provides clinical guidance and mentorship to other health team members as appropriate.

In addition to direct patient care, the Physician engages with patients, families, and community members to identify broader health trends and needs. The role includes developing and supporting evidence-informed, community driven strategies aimed at improving individual and population
health outcomes. The Physician may also contribute to organizational policy development and quality improvement initiatives, and is expected to participate in peer review, self assessment, and continuing education to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and culturally responsive care.

  • Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
  • Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
  • Certificant of College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
