Practice Details:

Fantastic opportunity for a Nephrologist to join the expanding Department of Medicine at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. This position offers a rewarding balance of meaningful clinical work, supportive colleagues, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

The successful candidate will provide general nephrology services for Interior Health’s West region, across community clinic setting, inpatient care, ICU consults, and the Kidney Care Clinic. They will possess good communication skills, be a collaborative team member, will thrive in an environment where there is a high level of clinical responsibility, and be within their first few years of practice. Advanced Subspecialty Nephrology training is an asset.

Our group delivers the full scope of nephrology care, including in centre and community dialysis, ICU SLED services, peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis, general nephrology clinics, and multidisciplinary CKD/GN and transplant clinics. RIH offers tertiary-level resources while maintaining a close‑knit, community feel.

The practice includes on average 4 clinics per week (6–8 hours/day) and participation in a 1:5 call rotation. You will join a collegial, highly collaborative team that shares workload interchangeably and prioritizes well‑being and quality of life. Research involvement is available for those interested however is not required.

Teaching opportunities are offered through RIH’s affiliation with the UBC Faculty of Medicine Southern Medical Program. It is expected that successful candidates participate in teaching and that successful applicants apply to join the provincial UBC Division of Nephrology. Leadership development is supported through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program and Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) courses.

Qualifications:
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory

Fee for Service: $400,000 - $500,000 + MOCAP Level 2


Additional Incentives

Relocation reimbursement up to a maximum of $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada (with eligible detailed receipts)
