Kelowna General Hospital serves one of the fastest growing communities in Canada, and we are expanding our team to meet the increasing demands. We are a group of 9 generalist Obstetricians-Gynecologists looking to recruit one outstanding new team member. If you are a FRCSC General Ob/Gyn seeking a welcoming community practice with exceptional lifestyle opportunities, this may be the right fit for you. We are looking for a collaborative, skilled physician who values high-quality patient care and a sustainable work-life balance.

The successful candidate will join a 1:10 home call schedule, providing consultative obstetrical care and emergency gynecology services, with Level 1 MOCAP funding. Primary obstetrical care is provided by our skilled family practice physicians and midwives, with high-risk patients managed in a shared care model. KGH is a Tier 4 referral centre, caring for neonates from 30 weeks and serving as a key link in the Perinatal Transfer Network. While designated a Tier 4 site, we provide increasingly high-acuity maternity care, supported by a comprehensive range of on-site services including in-house anesthesia, interventional radiology and a full compliment of surgical subspecialties (gynecologic oncology, surgical oncology, reconstructive urology etc). We have 5 delivery suites and 22 obstetrical beds, to support approximately 1800 deliveries annually, with volumes expected to exceed 2,000 within five years.

Our gynecologic practice is busy and surgically focused, including the full range of operative gynecology with significant advanced laparoscopy and urogynecology. A state-of-the art surgical tower supports a high volume, high quality surgical practice. We also utilize a nurse led conscious sedation suite, allowing for efficient delivery of minor gynecologic procedures.

KGH is home to the Southern Medical Program at UBC, and our department is actively involved in teaching medical students, family practice and off service residents, and serving as a community training site for senior UBC Ob/Gyn residents.

Kelowna General Hospital (KGH), one of BC's leading healthcare centres, is one of two tertiary hospitals within Interior Health. We offer a full range of services with approximately 400 beds and over 84,000 emergency department visits a year.

Home to the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC), KGH houses BC’s only cardiac critical care centre outside of Victoria and the Lower Mainland, as well as its principal surgical site. The IHSC features 12 specialized operating rooms designed for thoracic, urology, neurosurgery, vascular, plastic, obstetric/gynecologic, ear, nose, and throat, orthopedic, general, and trauma surgeries. Of these, two operating rooms are dedicated to cardiac surgery. Within the IHSC, KGH also has a modern maternity ward and an adjacent neonatal intensive care unit.

Our state-of-the-art Centennial Building boasts 360,000 square feet and includes an expanded emergency and ambulatory care department, new medical inpatient units, modern operating rooms, and a rooftop helipad. Additional facilities include a dedicated pediatric ward, as well as adolescent and adult psychiatry units. The Dr. Walter Anderson Building houses enhanced laboratory and clinical departments, supporting advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

KGH is also a teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program, affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC), and has an academic campus that serves as a satellite for the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
