Medical Director, Neurosciences Clinical Network

The Medical Director, Neurosciences Clinical Network, partners with the Network Director in a dyad leadership model to provide strategic medical leadership for neurosciences services across Interior Health. Together, they work with physicians and clinicians across the Clinical Network to advance integrated, evidence-based patient-centered care, drive system improvement, and support excellence in quality, safety, innovation, education, and research.

Key Responsibilities

Co-lead the Network's strategic planning, priorities, and service development in alignment with organizational and provincial health care goals.

Advance quality, safety, performance improvement, accreditation readiness, and evidence-based clinical practice across neurosciences services.

Support service planning, workforce development, physician recruitment and retention, credentialing, and resource allocation.

Foster physician engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

Provide clinical advice to senior leadership and represent Interior Health on applicable regional and provincial committees and in external partnerships.

Support digital health initiatives, including integration of clinical services with the electronic medical record (EMR).

Lead and support patient safety, risk management, and quality-of-care processes.

Develop and mentor physician leaders, support succession planning, and promote leadership practices aligned with the LEADS framework.

Champion research, innovation, medical education, and academic partnerships that enhance patient care and network priorities.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Medical Director, Quality.

Travel within IH is expected as required to fulfill the duties of the role.

This position may be based in any location within the Interior Health region.

Qualifications:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. Neurosciences specialty expertise with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Medical leadership experience and demonstrated effectiveness. Clinically active physician within Interior Health (credentialed and privileged or eligible for credentialling and privileging.
