Medical Leadership opportunity now available to join our Interior Health team as Program Medical Director for Cardiac Services; discover the rewards of career satisfaction while enjoying the best lifestyle the Okanagan has to offer! This is a Regional, part time administration opportunity (1.5 days/week (0.3 FTE), that reports directly to the Vice President, Clinical Operations (South). In this role you will collaborate closely with the Executive Medical Director, Chiefs of Staff and Department Heads, as you provide expert leadership for all physicians in the IH Cardiac Services Program. Working with the Program Director of Cardiac Services, you will help lead and facilitate a collaborative inter-professional environment to enhance a patient-focused approach to the provision of Cardiac Services within and outside of the designated Cardiac Program structure. Working with stakeholders from across all regions, you will help guide and further develop the Clinical Services for all IH communities (including rural and remote). You will provide guidance to Chiefs of Staff, Department Heads and other department members in developing and maintaining common clinical goals and objectives. You will provide recommendations regarding planning and implementation of surgical space layout and identify capital equipment expenditures; select procedures provided in each facility; ultimately ensuring the Cardiac Program is able to meet the targeted annual case volumes. Your leadership will be instrumental in helping to contribute to the recruitment and retention of physicians for the Cardiac Program. Defining program requirements, fostering collaboration with UBC Cardiac Services Academic program, monitoring the impact of your program on other programs and ensuring competence of physicians within your program will also be part of your accountability. Aligned with the IH vision, mission, values, strategic goals and priorities, you are responsible for the promotion of the highest quality standards of clinical care including quality assurance and quality improvement.
