We seek a full scope rural family practitioner to join our 6 physician Chisel Peak Clinic, located just 3 blocks from the hospital. The ideal candidate will welcome the ER, Hospital, residential and clinic variety in a practice. Low risk obstetrics is an option but not required.
While ER is a requirement, there is capacity to shape your practice to your particular interests and there is flexibility in determining both the size of practice and clinic office hours you prefer to work. Our EMR system is IntraHealth and our patient base is a nice mix of senior, young families, and during peak seasons, vacationers. We cover our own hospital inpatients during weekday working hours, and the ER physician on call is also the duty doctor who sees inpatients after hours and on weekends. Typically we might work 4 days a week and cover 1X 12 hr shift each week and 1:4 weekends we cover two 12 hour shifts (one night, one day). We enjoy both Level 1 MOCAP (on-call funding) as well as Rural Emergency Enhancement Funding (REEF) for our ER work.

- Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
- Doctorate in Medicine
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support Certification (ATLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS)

- On call requirements: Equal share of ER shifts; ~1:10

- Fee for Service
- + MOCAP and REEF for ER call
- Estimated Gross Income
- $300,000 estimated billings (including fee premium)

- Overhead
- Ave of $6,000/month for full time
- RSA Incentives
- Provincial Rural Incentives apply and typically include:
- Recruitment bonus of 20,000 (pro-rated if not full time);
- Relocation $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location;
- Fee premium of 21.14%;
- Annual flat fee of $18,482;
- Rural CME support: up to a max of $5,720 after 4 years in community.
- Rural incentive rates are subject to change but reflect available information at time of posting.
- Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for BC or Canada loan forgiveness programs.
