Clinic Details — Royal Inland Hospital:

The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is a 273-bed facility that serves as the referral centre for approximately 250,000 people, and is located in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap Health Service Area. As one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals, RIH is a no refusal centre with an Emergency Department that receives over 250 major trauma and 72,000 visits per year.

Kamloops offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24-hour Emergency and Trauma Services, Ambulatory and Outpatient Clinics, and Diagnostic Services Support services including a full complement of diagnostic equipment, a Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and Sleep Lab, 1.5T MRI, two CT scans, and Echocardiography. RIH also features, Stroke Thrombolysis, and provincial Tertiary Neuropsychiatry Programs. RIH is the regional base for the six-person, 24-hour High Acuity Response Team (HART) that is utilized in remote emergency transport situations. Surgical services include General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and 24/7 Anesthesia coverage.

The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is a UBC teaching hospital and one of two tertiary hospitals in Interior Health. Kamloops offers high-level, specialty medical care including Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Respirology, and Rheumatology. Diagnostics offered include a Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and Sleep Lab, MRI, two CT scans, and Echocardiography. RIH is the regional base for the High Acuity Response Team (HART) that transports critically ill patients throughout the region. Surgical services include General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Design your ideal practice with opportunities in inpatient care, hospital based outpatient clinics and neurodiagnostics.• Enjoy work in a well run, established Stroke/Rehabilitation combined unit in a brand new patient care tower with a MRP Hospitalist service. • RIH has a modern Electrophysiology Lab for those interested in provision of regional EMG, EEG, and/or Polysomnography services. • Our Urgent Neurology/Stroke Clinic has nursing and administrative support and is set up for telehealth if you would like to do outreach work.

Qualifications:
    • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
    • Doctorate in Medicine
    • Eligible for licensure with CPSBC; Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
Call Schedule:
  • Hours of work: Full time
  • On call requirements: Permanent: On call requirements: 1:5 or 1:6
Compensation:
  • Payment Structure
    • Fee for Service
    • Locum: The remuneration is fee for service with a minimum income guarantee of $15,000 for a 7 day week plus travel and accommodation.
  • Estimated Gross Income
    • Estimated Gross Income for a full-time position: $275,000 - $ 500,000, plus MOCAP level 1
  • Overhead
    • No overhead
  • RSA Incentives
    • With a minimum income guarantee $15,000 per week (shorter locums are possible and are prorated) •Additional Incentives- Travel and accommodation is covered.- No overhead cost
  • Additional Incentives
    • Relocation Assistance: Applicable for 1.0 FTE positions, $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location (with eligible receipts). Part-time opportunities may be eligible for a pro-rated reimbursement, please discuss with your IH Medical Staff Recruiter *Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer*
