Exciting Medical Leadership opportunity now available for community minded physician leader as local Medical Director, High Acuity Response Team (H.A.R.T.) Enjoy career satisfaction in this rewarding administrative role as you provide medical oversight and clinical leadership for the H.A.R.T. servicing the South Okanagan Health Service Area. This includes administrative, quality management, education and physician engagement responsibilities.Reporting to the Program Director / Regional Medical Director the local Medical Director is be expected to work in a co-management model with the HART leadership team (Regional Medical Director, Local Program Director, Base Manager, Regional Team Leader) and for ensuring that local service deliverables are consistent with the goals and objectives of the regional H.A.R.T. program. The Local Medical Director will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and an understanding of the interdependent roles of various allied health professionals. Success of the role is dependant upon the provision of leadership and support of clinicians involved in the delivery and coordination of high acuity transportation, as well as engagement with physicians, administration, ambulance services and community stakeholders.0.15 FTE (258.75 hrs) position based in Penticton. Board certified in Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and/or Critical Care Medicine; or equivalent combination of clinical medical education and experience.
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
- Doctorate in Medicine
- Certificant of College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support Certification (ATLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS)
- Eligible for licensure with CPSBC; Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory
