Comprising six insightful and collegial professionals, the internal medicine team delivers care within a bustling acute inpatient hospital setting at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. As a future colleague, you'll embrace the role of a true general internist, skilled in providing prevention, diagnosis, and treatments across a wide spectrum of diseases and conditions. You'll have access to a range of electrodiagnostics, including Holters, ECGs, and cardiac stress testing, equipping you with valuable tools to enhance your diagnostic capabilities.
Do you possess unique skills or exciting passions to showcase? Rest assured, we possess the flexibility to accommodate a variety of talents and areas of expertise. You'll exhibit an inclination for delivering comprehensive inpatient care services within internal medicine, while also expressing genuine interest in providing outpatient services. If you’re a US-trained specialist with ABMS certification in Internal Medicine, you may be eligible to practice medicine in British Columbia under the USA Certified Class.

On call requirements:
The on-call responsibilities are 5–6 days a month. They are generally undemanding and encompass inpatient consultations at KBRH, as well as providing phone support to neighbouring communities.
Compensation:
Estimated Gross Income
Anticipate an estimated gross annual income ranging from $300,000 to $400,000, determined by a fee-for-service payment structure and MOCAP level 1.
RSA Incentives
Recruitment incentive: $15,000
Relocation: $9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada.
Fee premium: 11.48%
Annual retention fee: $17,421
RCME funding: $600 for up to 2 years in Trail, $3,600 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $6,600 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds.
The above numbers are based on a full-time position and may be prorated for physicians working less than full time. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
