Practice Details:
The Rocky Mountain Health Centre (RMHC) in Fernie is seeking a full scope rural family practitioner to join our collegial and supportive 6 physician practice. The ideal candidate will participate in clinical work, Emergency Department (ED), hospital, and residential care. Duty Doctor for hospital coverage is a shared responsibility by our entire physician group and generally required for two weeks annually. ED (8 hr) shifts will be shared amongst 12 physicians which allows for the flexibility to drop/swap call. Our clinic uses Intrahealth Profile EMR. We have excellent support staff and regular access to an in-clinic chronic disease RN, Primary Maternity Care RN, and community social worker. The clinic patient population is a mix of seniors, those with chronic disease, young families, athletes, and seasonal tourists.
Our clinic offers excellent teaching potential. We are affiliated with UBC Medical School and we regularly have medical students and residents. Fernie has great locum coverage with 3 permanent community locums as well as physicians who want to locum to check out our outdoors! If you are interested in being a permanent locum rather than taking on a panel, the RMHC could guarantee as much work as desired for their current 7 physician practice.
