Interior Health is recruiting for an exciting new medical leadership opportunity as the Medical Director, Quality.

In accordance with IH’s vision and values, the Medical Director, Quality is responsible for the design, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of frameworks and standards for quality. Reporting to the Executive Medical Director, Quality, Engagement and Research and working in a co-management model with the Director, Quality, the Medical Director will establish and maintain the structures and processes necessary to support the overall quality management approach with clinical operations and medical staff leadership and support the IH Quality and Patient Safety strategic plan. The Medical Director, Quality will partner with other key areas, including Analytics and Planning, Strategic Information Management, and Health Information Management to support quality assurance and improvement cycles. In addition, the Medical Director will support the IH Quality and Patient Safety education and training strategy including Physician Quality Improvement (PQI), in addition to leading other Quality Initiatives. The Medical Director will have a key role in supporting other Medical Staff leaders in Quality Initiatives, such as Chiefs of Staff and Department Heads, or Program and Network Directors.

  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
  • Medical leadership training and/or experience Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory

Hours of work: 0.4 This is a one-year term position, with the possibility of renewal.

Estimated Gross Income

Competitive – will be based on Medical Leadership experience.
